This beautiful, famous theme from Tchaikovsky's ballet 'Swan Lake' is a lovely one to play all in first position on the violin. There are just a few accidentals here and there, and it's a good one for practicing slurs across different strings. 

For the slurs across strings, make sure the fingers are only touching the string they're supposed to be on, not the other string that the bow might play right before or after (this is where squeaks often come from).
